How it started

Helping the Multitude, Inc.(HTM, Inc.) started off merely as a character and integrity attribute that as a young child, Shannon Jones(Founder), thought was simply something that everyone in the world upheld; the Golden Rule. Due to an early anguished childhood upbringing, she learned quickly that you never know what the next person is going through, so to be kind and lend a helping hand whenever you could, to reignite hope and light back into another’s life, no matter how big or small the gesture was.

After over 10 years of contributing to local and national nonprofits as a participant, volunteer, and employee, one area continuously stood out as a gap – community and human services. Taking a leap of faith with the experience provided, knowledge gained, and lessons learned from her childhood, military career, and philanthropic efforts, Helping the Multitude, Inc. was founded in 2014 as a way to prevent others from suffering alone; with a passion focused on those at-risk, as bare necessities of life should never be a stressor.
With prepared dish and family/friend financial donations, along with vast out of pocket expenses, HTM, Inc. begun assisting our homeless community by providing popup hot meals throughout the Metro Atlanta Area and shelter distribution of Blessing Bags to displaced women and children. Within a short time, we started to see a much greater need than what was initially expected, which increased our selflessness of wanting to do more. We then introduced unique ways in bringing awareness and resources to those in need, as a whole, to ensure we reached the masses.

How its going

Helping the Multitude, Inc. became an official 501(c)(3) in 2020, granting us the opportunity to reach the multitude through nonprofit partnerships, coalitions, and the space to “provide creative outlets to allow our community to focus on their progression over their position”.
HTM. Inc. is continuously building on our vision of increasing awareness, resources, and self-sufficiency by driving quality of life improvements for every community and country around the world. In the interim, we will remain steadfast as Helpers, by providing a variety of creative opportunities to those displaced, disadvantaged, and short-handed by homelessness, poverty, and natural disasters through various initiatives and projects within our Helpers Program.
